This Super Bowl Squares contest is a free, online game created by your commissioner.
While there are some common scoring rules across different contests, we give contest commissioners the freedom to create their own rules for their squares contest.
Whether you’re new to the concept or a seasoned squares aficionado, we've found it's best to make sure you're familiar with the specific rules of your contest, so you know exactly what to cheer for when watching the game.
Any questions you have about the rules of this contest should be directed towards your contest commissioner, whose contact information is found at the top of every page in this contest.
General Rules
- A site password is required to pick your square(s) online. Password is provided, once payment is received. Any fraudulent entry without a payment will be deleted.
- Several ways to pay are listed- PLEASE USE PAYPAL AS A LAST RESORT. They squawk at large numbers of "gaming" payments. AGAIN - PROVIDE AN EMAIL ADDRESS WITH PAYMENT TO RECEIVE THE PASSWORD NECESSARY TO ENTER.
- Prize amounts are based on 100 squares being sold. If 100 squares aren't sold, there are options. If 50 squares are sold, prize amounts would be cut in half and each square sold would receive two sets of numbers. If no satisfactory solution can be found to 100 squares not being sold, all money will be refunded in the ways they were paid.
- No squares will be reserved. Once payment is received and password sent, you will choose your squares from any open spot remaining on the board.
- Once all squares are sold, entries will be closed, and the computer will randomly assign numbers 0-9 across the top (AFC) and again down the left side (NFC). The numbers directly above and directly left of your square will be your numbers for that square.
- This is a normal squares contest. Your AFC number and your NFC number relate to the last digit in the score of each team in the Super Bowl. 1, 11, 21, 31 etc. are all a 1 on the squares board. AFC stands for the AFC representative in the Super Bowl, NFC for that conference's representative.
- Prizes will be awarded at the end of each quarter - two per quarter - for a total of eight cash prizes. A prize for "actual score" and a prize for "reverse score" will be awarded at the end of each quarter. I.E., a score of AFC 14 NFC 7 at the end of the first quarter would pay the AFC 4 NFC 7 square the "actual score" prize for that quarter. It would pay the AFC 7 NFC 4 square the "reverse score" prize for that quarter.
-Each square is eligible to win more than once, determined by the game score at the end of all four quarters.
- THE CONTEST ENDS AFTER 4 QUARTERS. If OT is necessary to decide the Super Bowl, no prizes will be awarded during the OT period.
Prizes
8 Payouts, 2 per quarter -
Actual score per quarter - $1,000
Reverse score per quarter - $250
The numbers assigned to your square, once all squares are sold, are the last digit of each team's score in the actual game, per quarter.
EXAMPLE - you have bought a square which is assigned with the numbers AFC 1 and NFC 3.
-if the score of the Super Bowl at the end of the first quarter is AFC 21 and NFC 13, you win $1,000 (actual score payout). If the actual score is AFC 13 and NFC 21, you win $250 (reverse score payout)
- if the score at the end of the third quarter is AFC 31 and NFC 33 (or AFC 33 and NFC 31 reversed), you win a second time - another $1,000 (or $250).
- the so called "bad boxes", double numbers - 2-2, 4-4, 5-5, etc. Paying both forward and reverse, you are actually playing for the full $1,250 per quarter!
- CONTEST ENDS AFTER 4 QUARTERS. NO PRIZES AWARDED FOR ANY OT PERIODS PLAYED.
END OF; ACTUAL REVERSED
First quarter $1,000 $250
Second quarter $1,000 $250
Third quarter $1,000 $250
Fourth quarter $1,000 $250
$5,000 total payout, if 100 squares sold.
Where possible, all payouts will be paid by the same app you used to pay. If top prizes hit the money app's limits, it will be paid by cashier check.
Payments
-IF YOU USE VENMO - DO NOT TURN ON THE "PURCHASE" BUTTON. If the transaction is listed as a purchase, Venmo deducts $1.05 out of the $50 and wants me to pay to list them as a payment option for my "business". Leave the transaction as money between us.
- Each square is $50. Payment must be made before the site password is provided.
- BE SURE TO PROVIDE AN EMAIL ADDRESS OR TEXT NUMBER WITH PAYMENT TO RECIEVE PASSWORD.
- First paid, first choice. No square will be saved. Once a password is provided (after payment), it is your responsibility to come pick your square(s).
