This Super Bowl Squares contest is a free, online game created by your commissioner.
While there are some common scoring rules across different contests, we give contest commissioners the freedom to create their own rules for their squares contest.
Whether youāre new to the concept or a seasoned squares aficionado, we've found it's best to make sure you're familiar with the specific rules of your contest, so you know exactly what to cheer for when watching the game.
Any questions you have about the rules of this contest should be directed towards your contest commissioner, whose contact information is found at the top of every page in this contest.
General Rules
The setup for Super Bowl squares is relatively simple. A pool consists of 10 vertical columns and 10 horizontal rows, both numbered from zero to nine. One Super Bowl teamāin this year's case either the Chiefs or the 49ersāgets the columns and the other gets the rows. Each of the 100 squares inside are then purchased individually with each square priced equally.
Once every box of the pool has been sold, the numbers assigned to each row and column are selected at random.
How to win:
At the end of every quarter, the person whose square corresponds with the intersection of the second digit of each teamās score wins a prize (for example, a 14ā7 score at the end of the first quarter pays out the owner of the square at row 4, column 7). If a square is unowned the money will rollover to the next quarter, if the final score square is unowned the four squares (North, South, East, and West) will split the money.
